April 24th
Well Clara has been home four days and has seemed to fit right in. She is becoming more active and vocal. She is taking her bottles very well and is taking 80 ml on regular basis. We have had an in-home visit from the nurse and physical therapist. Both were impressed with her condition since leaving the hospital. Clara has an appointment with Dr. Rue (pediatrician) and Dr. Saunders (eye doctor).
I know many people want to meet Clara for the first time, but the Doctor made us promise that we would limit exposure and keep her at home as much as possible. They cautioned us that any type of illness will probably require another hospital stay in the PICU (frankly I can go a LONG time before I see the inside of a hospital again). So please give Clara some time to get stronger and we promise that the door will always be open once we receive the "All Clear" from the doctors.
I know some of you need a Clara update every couple of day but the weaning process must begin sometime, so I will probably post to the blog on a weekly basis.
Cheers for now....
