Clara went to the eye doctor today. We noticed that her eye had started to wonder, or become lazy. Dr. Saunders did the exam, and said that both eyes are lazy. Her sight is fine, thank Goodness. So, Miss Clara will be made even more cute, by wearing glasses. I truely was hoping that this would not happen so soon. With her Pre-maturity, and her Daddy's eye sight(Terrible!!) she was going to need them eventually. We are going to go tomorrow to pick out her frames. I have gotten some advise from other Mom's with kids who wear glasses, on how to train them to keep the glasses on. Same idea as potty training, reward with M&Ms. For every 5 minutes or so that she wears them, she gets an M&M. Then you go 10 minutes, 15, etc. We are going to get two pair, because you all know how fast Clara moves. One pair will not cut it. All of this is half a Preemie thing, and I have a lazy eye, so half is Mommie's fault. MORE GUILT!!!!!! UGH! I'll post pics of her new look, when she gets her specks.

Clara and I enjoyed a 6 mile kayaking trip with the Catawba Crusiers ("our new paddlin friends" as Clara put it). This was her first extended paddling trip and she could not have acted better and I think she enjoyyed seeing all the herons, coots, egrets, and we even saw a bald eagle. She even enjoyed a swim in the river after lunch.

Gammy & PaPa visited last weekend and took Clara to the NC Zoo. We all enjoyed seeing & learning about the animals and riding the carousel.

Well, the Summer is coming to a close. Ethan Hege and his new baby sister, Larsen, came back today. Ethan will be with us this week, then he starts Montessori school. Clara is so happy to have him back. They had a great time playing today. Clara helped me feed Larsen her bottle. She is a wonderful helper! Gammy and Papa(Mike's parents) are coming to visit us on Thursday. Clara was promised a trip to McDonalds. We are also going to go to the zoo. I'll get some pics and post them. Clara is doing well with her whole teeth pulling thing. She has hit her mouth twice. With it came many tears, lots of blood, and me having a complete Heart Attack!! I just don't want anything else to happen to thar poor child's mouth. She ate corn on the cob last night, which was so funny to watch. She is FINALLY looking like a three year-old. Her body is filling out. She's just doing great. We can't ask for more.
