On Oct 14th, the staff of the Carolina's Medical Center NICU held a memorial service and butterfly release at the Frazier memorial Park in uptown Charlotte. Krystal was invited to speak about our experiences and to speak about Jacob & Clara. It was very emotional for both of us but she spoke from the heart.
It was great to see many of the nurses and doctors that cared for Clara. Everyone was excited to see that she is progressing so well.

Nurse Susan attended the ceremony and I will never forget her because she was the first nurse I met in the NICU after Clara and Jacob were born. And she was the one that brought out the Father in me and gave me the first lesson in how to be a NICU parent. While I was looking at Clara in the isollete she encouraged me to "touch your baby" and explained she needed to feel my touch.

These two pictures put in to prospective Clara's progression. The first picture is Nurse Susan treating Clara two days after birth. The second picture is Nurse Susan holding Clara nine months later.

THANK YOU SUSAN!
