Feb 22nd

Miss Clara is back on the nasal O2 prongs to help her breath. It were nice to she her face and hair again. She is doing well and making steady progress, she is now feeding on 21 ml of milk every three hours. Clara will gain about an ounce/day for three or four days and the lose 1 or 2 ounces, she is now up to 2lbs 6 oz. They are now adding fortifier to the milk to add calories for weight gain. She is now using a larger diaper because she fill the smaller ones up so quickly and then it leaks on her bedding. We have been able to do a lot of Kcare the last few days which has been real nice. We are getting so good that the nurse's pretty much leave us alone when we get her out.
A lot of people are asking when we can bring her home or if there is a time table. The first thing they told us was to take it a day at a time. She will have to reach certain goals before even being considered for release. And weight is not one, be able to suck, swallow, breath is a big one but there are many more. We must also demonstrate that we are fit parents to take care of a Preemie. It will be at least 1.5 to 2 months before we even are told she is getting close to being ready.
